General Summary:

The ARNP or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

• Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of adult thoracic surgery patients in the clinic and hospital setting for pre and post-operative patients

• Conditions treated and post-op care include but not limited to: Robotic Surgery for the Lungs and Chest, Minimally invasive treatment for Early Stage Lung Cancer, Experienced Surgical Treatment for Advanced Lung Cancer, Multimodality treatment for Advanced Lung Cancer, Lung Cancer, Surgical intervention and therapies for Esophageal conditions; Surgical conditions of chest wall disorders; surgical treatment of mediastinal disease and thymic conditions

• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as laboratory, X-ray, etc.

• Assist Physician with hospital procedures as needed

• Assist patient and family with pre- and post-operative education

• Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed

• Schedule will consist of weekly rotations covering inpatient rounding, consults and follow up of thoracic surgical patients and seeing patients in APP run clinic.

• Call –alternating weekly assignment Friday to Friday—call changes over at 6am Fridays; paried with a physician; current call schedule is every third week

Knowledge and Skills Required:

General Summary:

• Will manage new patients and follow up patient visit, Assisting and developing proper plan of care and diagnosis

• Office procedures include but not limited to: Bladder instillations, foley management, endometrial biopsies, tibial nerve stimulation, post operative care

• Surgical Assistance for Urogynecologic procedures including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic female pelvic reconstructive procedures

  • Monitoring the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed

General Summary:

  • Performs admissions, consultations and follow up care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting, including intubation, ventilator management and other procedures that may be required
  • Managing medical and post-operative ICU patients
  • Conditions treated: Congenital Heart Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Epilepsy, Complex Medical, Liver Transplant
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Educates patient and family on treatment plans, surgical procedures, pre- and post-operative care, etc.
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Enthusiastic team player, team currently consists of 5 PCICU physicians, and 4 other APP’s
  • Group sees over 200 heart cases annually
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, 14 12-hour shifts, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform procedures: lines, intubations, etc.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
  • Master of Science in Nursing in Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – preferred
  • 1-3 years in experience as a Pediatric APRN or PA-C in an ICU, acute care or ER setting

Located in the beautiful Volusia, Palm Coast and West Volusia Counties, north of Orlando through the Atlantic coastal line of Florida.   Opportunities exist within the following locations:   Daytona Beach, Palm Coast and Deland.  Our gastroenterology network is aligned with our Digestive Health Institute providing multidisciplinary care to patients across the spectrum of digestive disease.
