Neuro Critical Care – PA or ACNP

AdventHealth Celebration is seeking an experienced NeuroICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our expanding critical care team. The APP would be based out of AdventHealth Celebration, which has approximately 60 critical care beds. Our Neuro Critical Care unit is currently 20 beds. Our group is currently looking to continue to grow its comprehensive and successful 24/7 closed ICU model.

The APP would serve as a member of the Neurocritical Care team by assisting in management of critically ill patients at AdventHealth. The PA/APRN applies specialized skills and knowledge related to Neuro ICU settings in which they practice, contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and consulting at AdventHealth.

General Summary:

Under physician direction and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital, the APP will assist with:

• Providing direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients with multi-system failure, utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the patient’s physician

• Obtains patient health histories and complete physical examinations and documents findings in accordance with hospital requirements

• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff and healthcare learners

• Performs CPR; airway management including bag and mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and extubation; directing administration of life supporting drugs, and defibrillation

• Inserts and manages arterial catheters, central venous catheters, and other procedures commensurate with an ICU environment

• Interfaces patients with monitoring and instrumentation equipment and directs and educates others in performing the same functions

• Perform admissions and consultations to the NeuroICU unit, Rounds with Neuro- Intensivist, provides cross coverage on the patients rounded on earlier

• Formulates and implements a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s) and documents in medical records and appropriate narrative summaries

• Assesses patients for changes in status and institutes appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient

• Participates and assists with the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of the patients admitted to the ICU

General Summary:

The ideal candidate would serve as an integral role in the global management of breast surgery patients, including all aspects of Peri-operative care from performing patient histories and daily rounds to invasive surgical procedures.

The APP, under the supervision of the Physicians is responsible for:

  • Performs patient histories and physical exams in the office and hospital setting. Exhibits autonomy in the operating room when required.
  • Performs first assistant duties.
  • Meets the specific needs of the attending surgeon, often assisting several surgeons in a single practice. Physician Assistant, Surgical: Pediatrics
Orlando, FL

Location: Orlando, FL - Specialty: Physician Assistant, Surgical: Pediatrics

We are seeking a Certified Physician Assistant, PA-C to join a growing program and practice. The role involves direct care for infants, children, teenagers, and adults with congenital heart disease. The PA-C would work in outpatient and inpatient settings. Also, he/she will assist in the OR during surgery. The position involves collaboration between pediatric cardiology teams, neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU, and inpatient cardiology. All services would be under the supervision of the heart surgeons.

Our practice is led by world renown congenital heart surgeons at the Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth Orlando.

Experience in Congenital Heart Surgery is not required however, surgical experience outside of PA training will be required. Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, including a 22 bed PICU, 10 bed Cardiac ICU, 102 NICU beds at FHFC, with an extensive network of four other Level II NICU’s that bring our total number of NICU beds to over 150, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open-heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program. Our unparalleled network consists of 26 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics.

General Summary:

  • Primary therapist to maintain a full caseload and perform case management functions as necessary.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling
  • 2 years experience in Pediatrics, Adult and Family therapy
  • Preferred: Three (3) years post-Master's experience in clinical practice, One (1) year experience with field supervision of Masters level student interns, One (1) year experience in working in short-term/solution-oriented modalities and groups.
  • Spanish preferred but not mandatory

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current & valid Florida Mental Health Counselor license (LMHC)
