Our division of pediatric endocrinology is proudly ranked among the nation's top 50 programs by U.S news and world report and News week. Backed by a well-established pediatric residency program, an active translation research center for endocrine metabolic disorders, and robust port polio of ongoing clinical trials, we offer an exceptional environment for clinical practice, teaching, and innovative research. Additionally, faculty have the opportunity to collaborate with our specialized multidisciplinary programs, including our pediatric thyroid cancer program and adolescent bariatric program. 

Responsibilities of the new physician will include:  high volume outpatient clinics with a wide variety of patients from age 0 – 18, outreach clinics (currently providing care in four locations) and inpatient coverage in equal rotation with other group members. It is also possible to develop a subspecialty niche depending on physician’s interest.  The Pediatric Endocrinology program has a dedicated area for hormone testing and we offer the full spectrum of dynamic hormonal testing and infusions. We have a large diabetes program with staffing for five nurse CDEs and a dietitian CDE.  We also have two social workers, and a growth hormone coordinator.

The physician will join a collaborative team of four pediatric gastroenterologists and three advanced practice providers in a predominantly general pediatric GI practice, with flexibility to develop a focused clinical or academic niche based on patient needs and the candidate’s interests.

General Summary:

• The NP or PA assists the assigned staff attending in all aspects of patient care. This position involves practice in the clinical setting, including inpatient, ambulatory/outpatient, and pre-operative and post-operative care.
• The practice will involve care and management of patients requiring or consultation for ENT-related diagnoses.

This opportunity combines comprehensive clinical care with leadership in the continued development of a multidisciplinary pediatric weight management program. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in evidence-based pediatric obesity treatment, a collaborative approach to program growth, and a commitment to compassionate, family-centered, stigma-free care.

Job Details

• Includes two hours per week dedicated to program directorship.
• Provide comprehensive evaluation and longitudinal management of pediatric and adolescent obesity and associated conditions, tailoring care to each patient’s age, developmental stage, and family needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans integrating nutrition, physical activity, behavioral support, genetic obesity testing and appropriate anti-obesity medication management.
• Lead the development and expansion of anti-obesity medication services, including GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy for eligible pediatric patients receiving medical weight management or care before and after adolescent metabolic and bariatric surgery.
• Provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary weight management team, including working with other pediatric obesity medicine specialists, a child clinical health psychologist, a registered and licensed dietitian with pediatric weight management certification, an exercise physiologist with personal training certification, and health educators and coaches.
• Partner with the AdventHealth for Children Adolescent Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program leader to advance program quality, growth, access, and continuity of care across medical and surgical treatment.
