AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for a dynamic and energetic PRN Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon willing to assist our team at AdventHealth Tampa. Responsibilities of the Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon will include call coverage at AdventHealth Tampa.  Inpatient and outpatient duties include general peds ortho case mix, as well as pediatric sports, depending on physician’s interest.

Ideal schedule and details would include:  

  • 8 am Monday through 8 am Monday, 2 non-consecutive weeks per month (unless otherwise specifically arranged)
    • Competitive PRN rate with travel and hotel provided
  • Clinic 8am-5pm
    • Evaluate and manage pediatric orthopedic patients
    • Supported by 2 full time MA’s (also competent in casting)
    • Full time APRN recruitment underway
    • 1 full time and 1 part time Rad Tech
    • Radiology Suite in clinic
    • Surgery scheduling support
    • Onsite management
  • Surgical Practice
    • 2 OR days per week
    • Supportive OR team coordinators
    • Surgical staff with experience in pediatric orthopedics
  • Hospital/ED/Practice Call Coverage
    • 8am-8am coverage of practice patients
    • 8am-8am coverage of patients presenting to AdventHealth Tampa, and answering calls and taking transfers from outside West Division Emergency Departments
    • 8am-8am coverage of hospital consults

Requirements of the position: 

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery
  • Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery

Practice Description

This is an employment opportunity. Other benefits include occurrence-based malpractice coverage, and travel to Tampa and hotel. This practice is a part of AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG).  AHMG is a sister organization of AdventHealth which employs 900+ physicians in 60+ specialties. Hospital Description

AdventHealth Tampa is a not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, primarily serving Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and other surrounding counties. Our Children’s units in Tampa include five PICU beds, 15 pediatric beds and 28 NICU beds and a pediatric emergency department.  Surgical and inpatient support is provided by growing and engaged pediatric departments to include pediatric anesthesia.
